Time to diet!

Oh boy, after the holidays, I really need to start fighting the fat. Brian found some pictures that we thought were lost due to a hard drive crash, burned onto a CD, of around the time we started dating. He was upset about how skinny HE was then, but he didn't tell me there were some of me in there!! This is so sad....I was already at least 30 pounds overweight when we met, but I'd give anything to be that "fat" again!

I'm not going to stress about it til after the first of the year, but I HAVE to do something then! It's the same "New Year's Resolution" I've had since becoming an adult practically. Maybe this time I can actually do it. It's not just me I want to get healthy for now...it's my little girl, who I want to teach healthy habits. I want to be able to play outside with her when she gets a little older without getting winded. And I just want to be around a good long time for her. Time to quit feeling sorry for my fat self and start DOING something about it.

Speaking of my little angel, she will be 7 months old tomorrow. *sniff* Time is going by too fast.

To game or not to game?

That is the question! Online gaming is something Brian and I both enjoy, and we've reached a point where we are able to play without getting totally wrapped up in it. But....do I really have time to justify paying the monthly subscription fee? I could play after Ava is in bed....but quite often, I'm cleaning, packing my lunch for the next day, or I'm just plain tired and want to go to bed myself. I could play on the weekends after she is in bed, I guess....or, I could play on the weekends while she's napping, which is a pretty unpredictable schedule. So really, that doesn't leave a lot of time. Plus, Brian found a new game he wants to play that has pirates in it. I still want to play the old RPG style games like EQ2, I guess more because of story-line reasons. He doesn't really care about storylines. So we'd have to agree about WHAT game to play, I guess. Blah. Is it even worth it? I don't know. Probably not.

Maybe I should just use that extra time to be a better housekeeper, or catch up sleep, or *gasp* exercise or something. I guess.

Visit with Santa

Last weekend, Ava got to see Santa for the first time. She was so cute.....she just loved the "winter wonderland" they had set up around Santa's chair. And she wasn't scared of the big man at all! Here's a pic:

After we got back home, we tried to take a Christmas card picture, but no such luck....she was tired and cranky, though we did get a few cute pics of her and daddy.

Christmas just seems so exciting this year...watching her little face when she sees the lights on the Christmas trees, or listens to Christmas songs, or dressing her up in her Christmas outfit. Kinda brings a bit of the "Christmas spirit" back, ya know? Can't wait til the holidays get even closer, it'll be so much fun
